Diabolo Association Taiwan (DAT) was established in 1999.  It is aim for diabolo games of popularizing and inventive diabolo games of multiability.  As twenty- first century coming, oriental culture, once again, presents in the world and goes forward together with western culture; it begins recreating and developing traditional toy, Diabolo.   First, we rally diabolo tricks and improve the diabolo ability levels, in order to lead diabolo effect and launch into the global world.  Second, we will advance the quality of diabolo performance and combine with the element of modern arts, also progress in professional training to extend infinite possibility of multiple appearances.

DAT’s mission statement: AIM (Accessible, International, and Modernized); it means to popularize diabolo game and make it popularization, internationalization and modernization.  Diabolo Association Taiwan has been endeavoring in the past nine years and at the present 10th Super Diabolo Game Taiwan is starting new way of the competition.  Because of the extended stage, the enrolled percentage of whole game is flying increasing about 70 percent.  As the data, diabolo game is been operating attentively by DAT and popularizing diabolo game.  It is climate that brings an irresistible trend in the near future.

From redeveloping diabolo game nationwide to reaching worldwide which is DAT’s mission; and further, it is indispensable duty of everyone in Diabolo Association Taiwan.  Nowadays, diabolo favorers are found everywhere where included Asia, America, Europe, African and Oceania; moreover, in some Asian countries (e.g. Japan, Singapore, Korean and so on), diabolo favorers are grouping diabolo teams. Additionally, the culture is multicultural and each country has the own diabolo characteristic and type.  Thus, DAT is not only redeveloping and promoting national diabolo games, but also we are ready to contact with the world in the near future.

In order to advance and connect between Taiwanese Diabolo and international, the association has planned the judges and the coaches’ brainstorming and cortication nationally every year; transacting any sort of diabolo activities to exchange the diabolo tricks and improve the competition system.  Besides, we expect to advance the diabolo into the life.

In the 19th century, French thought the diaboloist played diabolo and the movements similar to tennis, thus diabolo game came one element of Parisian fashion; the word of diabolo was known as “the devil on two sticks” and came from Greek, then diabolo had became a fad for two centuries long in England and till now; in Beijing, the elder use the movement of diabolo to make brain cells moving to avert aging; in Taiwan, the diabolo is been taking advantage in medical therapy on qualification.

Diabolo Association Taiwan has been supported from many organizations and all the members, we will keep develop local area and connect with world consistently; we believe a fusion of several different cultures, those can create the wonderful diabolo culture in prospect.
